Designing Mobiles

A little bit of behind the scenes of how I created my newest addition to the product range - mobiles/ wall hangings.

I am really interested in abstracting the shapes and colours of land, particularly of the West Coast of Scotland, below are a couple of examples of how I have explored this in the past with previous things I have created.

I have also become increasingly interested in paper in 3D forms and I wanted to explore this further, here I am in my sketchbook having a little play around with colour and shape and seeing what vertical compositions could look like.

Mobiles have always really excited me and they naturally came up in the process of experimenting !

Below are one of many mobiles I made to test out balance and see what shapes work. I think I made about 30 in total !

I finally settled on these designs and I really like how they turned out !
